The dynamics of song

Just spent a fascinating day with the amazing Jason Tinsley further developing the animation of Joanna Foster and the Singing for Breathers 'Round.' The stills below in no way do justice to the delightful interplay of vocal dynamics which mesmerised us as they unfolded on the screen.  The animation will be premiered at the Private View of the Breathe Exhibition on November 11th at the Royal Brompton Hospital, Sydney Street, hope to see you there!!

Collaboration Phase 2: Animating song

Since recording the Singing for Breathing group's round composed by Joanna Foster, I have set to work with the brilliant Jason Tinsley to bring a visual dimension to the composition. Below are some early stills from the animation which we will continue to work on to show on November 11th at the Royal Brompton alongside the performance of Joanna's full composition.

In Lively Conversation!

Tuesday 30th September saw the lively and interactive evening of conversation with Medical Researcher Rebecca Tanner, Composer Joanna Foster and myself led by curator George Mogg. Karen Taylor introduced the evening and welcomed a wide and varied audience which included patients, Singing for breathing group members, Physiotherapists, Researchers, Artists and a Professor of Physics. A huge thank you to everyone who took part and for The Royal Brompton Hospital for hosting us so generously and to Annabelle Bond for capturing the event in the photos below.
