Etching the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Group's Breath into copper.

Having transported the copper plates back from the Royal Brompton, I have spent the rest of the week etching and cleaning them and as of 10 minutes ago I have only one left to clean off. Once that is done I’ll post images of the full array before I go to BodenPress on Monday to produce 3 limited edition prints of each plate.

The dreaded cleaning stage!

Edging and polishing. Nine more to go!

Singing for Breathing at the Royal Brompton Hospital

On Monday I had the opportunity to take part in the singing for Breathing group led by composer and musician Joanne Foster. The session was a thoroughly inspiring way of looking at joyful ways of extending breathing capacity. The ACE funding will facilitate a collaboration between Joanna, myself and the singing for Breathing Group.

ACE funding for the Breathe Project at the Royal Brompton Hospital!!

I’m delighted that we have been awarded ACE funding for the Breath Project at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals.  We have quite a tight schedule so its been exciting to get going with the making and collaborations that we proposed.

First procurement is the lovely 410gsm paper for the embossed prints…..

And then on to the Pulmonary Rehabilitation session in the Gym to record breath on copper with the much appreciated help of Vicky Lord and Michael Woolcock.

Surge Plymouth College of Art

the final leg of the travelling show was the beautiful venue of Plymouth College of Art where Ruth Simons, Simon Finn and I enjoyed an 'in conversation' session with curator George Mogg to a full and engaged audience. Many thanks also to Hannah, Jones and Leah Harris for all their hard work in organising the event and to Dom Moore for his photography.

Subtle Bodies at Kentish Town Medical Centre in collaboration with Kate Keara Pelen

In March 2014 I had the privilege of collaborating with Kate Keara Pelen and Anna Sikorska at Kentish Town Medical Practice to mark the end of Kate's residency there.  Many thanks to Melanie Hardwick of Freespacegallery for her inspirational work to make this exhibition possible and to Emma Moneil for some of the images below:
